Founded in 1912, New Bethlehem Community Center is the oldest and first Bethlehem Center in the United States β and we have never stopped serving.
Our Mission
To be an extension of God's ministry by providing free, holistic services to families, children, senior adults, and at-risk individuals in and around the Bethlehem Community of Augusta, Georgia β improving the quality of life and offering Enrichment. Growth. Life. to all who walk through our doors.

A thriving, resilient Bethlehem Community where every person β regardless of age, background, or circumstance β has access to the education, health resources, and social support they need to live abundantly. Our History & Legacy
Founded in Augusta, GA as the first Bethlehem Center in the United States.
Expanded programs to serve returning veterans and growing families in the Bethlehem community.
Deepened commitment to civil rights-era community support and education initiatives.
Grew health and social services programs in response to changing community needs.
Launched the TRUTH Project and expanded youth development programming for at-risk youth.
Expanded mental health awareness (MAPS), senior adult activities, and substance abuse prevention programming.
Serving Augusta, Richmond County, Burke County, and the CSRA with 6+ active free programs.

Sheridan Glaze
Under Sheridan's leadership, New Bethlehem Community Center continues to grow its reach and deepen its impact across Augusta and the CSRA. Her dedication to the organization's faith-rooted mission drives every program, partnership, and community initiative NBCC undertakes.
From managing federally-funded grant programs to building relationships with the families and youth NBCC serves, Sheridan embodies the heart of our mission β compassion in action, every single day.

Our Senior Adult Activities program brings joy, connection, and nourishment to older adults in the Augusta community β every Tuesday and Thursday, free of charge.
